Matt Toohey

Industry super fund-owned bank ME is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Toohey as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), commencing 2 July 2018.

The appointment comes as ME accelerates its frictionless banking vision, using technology to enhance digital channels and customer self-service.

Matt will be accountable for the development, management and monitoring of ME’s information technology function.

A seasoned technology leader, Matt most recently worked with Bankwest as its General Manager of Delivery and Engineering, where he managed the bank’s software delivery operations and change.

He also held CIO roles at Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers in 2016 and telecommunications company, iiNet from 2011 to 2015.

Matt will take over from Craig Ralston − recently appointed as Group Executive of Customer Banking − who was acting as CIO since Mark Gay, ME’s former CIO, resigned earlier in 2018.
