ME shareholders are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Cheryl Bart AO to the ME Board, ratified at the Bank’s June Board Meeting in Melbourne.
Ms Bart’s appointment is effective 1 July 2016.
Ms Bart is a highly accomplished leader across the fields of business, economics, digital, and culture, and as an adventurer and mountain climber.
She started her career as a lawyer with Mallesons Stephen Jaques in the banking and finance practice.
She has since built and maintained a diverse non-executive director portfolio, chairing both committees and boards across the utilities, funds management, auto-finance and leasing, broadcasting, technology and infrastructure sectors.
Current non-executive directorships include: SG Fleet Ltd; Audio Pixel Holding Ltd; Football Federation Australia; and Ted X Sydney.

In 2008, Cheryl and her daughter were recognised with the Australian Geographic Spirit of Adventure Award for being the first mother and daughter team in the world to climb the Seven Summits, including Mount Everest in 2008. Cheryl is the first Australian woman to complete the ‘Explorer’s Grand Slam’.
In 2009, Cheryl was awarded an AO for services to South Australia in economic and cultural development, leadership, work with welfare organisations and contribution to sport.
ME Chairman, Mr Ken Hodgson, said: “Cheryl will be a tremendous addition to the ME Board, bringing a wealth of experience to the organisation.
