ME Bank wins ‘Regional Bank of Year’

Friday August 22, 2014

ME Bank has won ‘Regional Bank of the Year’ at the prestigious Smart Investor Blue Ribbon Awards 2014 in Sydney.

The winners were published today in the AFR Smart Investor Magazine.

ME Bank was also awarded Best Short-Term Deposit.

The Awards are widely acclaimed within the finance industry as the most comprehensive and independent evaluation of banking, insurance and investment products.

The quality of this year’s finalists was very high, as businesses revealed to the nation that even with a volatile post- GFC economy and the continuing scrutiny of fees, they can deliver quality products.

James Frost, Smart Investor Editor, said: "Smart Investor is pleased to announce ME Bank as the winner of its Blue Ribbon Award for Best Regional Bank for 2014.”

"Backed by some of Australia’s biggest superannuation funds, ME Bank provides a genuine banking alternative."

"ME Bank delivered consistently high scores across its entire range of banking products, offering customers high-return deposits and low-cost borrowing solutions, as evidenced by its five year mortgage which is one of lowest rates on offer in the market today. Congratulations to the team at ME Bank."

ME Bank CEO, Jamie McPhee, said he was delighted that this year’s Smart Investor Blue Ribbon Awards had honoured us with two awards for our fair-minded approach to banking.

“Edging out seven other regional banks with several hundred years of banking experience combined is a terrific achievement considering our bank was only established 20 years ago."

“While it’s nice to be appreciated, most of all we’re glad our customers are enjoying our great products and quality service. Awards like this are further evidence that our approach is resonating strongly with consumers.”
