Industry super fund-owned bank ME today announced a major IT restructure, as it moves into a post-‘technology transformation’ phase of operations.
ME CIO, Mark Gay, said the restructure is about setting the Bank up for success at it moves to capitalise on opportunities from its 5-year, $90 million total technology rebuild.
The Bank has created five new IT leadership roles and recruited externally to fill three of those roles. One role has been filled internally and one is yet to be occupied.
The five new IT leadership roles include:
• GM Cyber Security
• GM Infrastructure and Operations
• GM Business Solutions
• GM Strategy and Architecture
• GM Data
Samantha Macleod has been appointed GM Cyber Security, and will be responsible for security, risk and governance across ME’s entire technology landscape. Samantha was most recently the Asia Pacific (ASPAC) IT Risk Solutions leader at GE Capital HQ (US), and has also held senior leadership positions within leading technology organisations such as Oracle Corporation.
Kate Luxmoore has been appointed GM Infrastructure and Operations, and will be responsible for defining, implementing and supporting the operation of ME’s technology production systems. Kate hails from GE Capital Australia and New Zealand where she has held several IT leadership positons over more than a decade.
Danny Cheong has been appointed GM Business Solutions and is charged with developing and implementing a strategy for delivering software to support the business. Danny most recently held a Head of Delivery role at TAL Direct and has held senior in-house and consulting positions during his career.
Shane Kuret has been appointed internally to the role GM Strategy and Architecture and will be responsible for technology planning and governance, enterprise architecture, solution architecture and managing strategic vendor relationships. Shane has been working for ME for 8 years, in roles such as GM Solution Design and Delivery, and most recently, Transformation Program Manager.
ME is also currently hiring for a GM Data with a proven leadership within financial services data. This role will be focused on designing and implementing enterprise wide governance and utilisation of data.
