This year, ME Bank celebrates 10 years as proud major sponsor of Australia’s largest charity event, the Mother’s Day Classic.
Our employees and families joined 130,000 people at events across the country to help raise vital funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s research programs. ME Bank’s participation didn’t stop there – sales of the Bank’s specially designed bandanas not only added a splash of colour to the proceedings, they also raised more than $24,000 for the cause.
This year’s bandana design was created by Fiona Sproles, whose ‘Pink Commando’ motif represents the fighting spirit of women. Fiona was inspired by her friend Jane, a thriving survivor who exhibited strength and courage throughout her cancer battle.
$23.8 MILLION RAISED FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH.
Since the first Mother’s Day Classic in 1998, the event has raised $23.8 million for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. These funds support a range of research projects aimed at enhancing breast cancer detection and developing new drugs to treat advanced breast cancer.
Thank you to everyone who showed their support for breast cancer research by taking part in their local event. We look forward to seeing you there next year – on Sunday, 10 May 2015!
